I'm Amirhossein, though most people just call me Amir. The story starts in Tehran, in a family where art wasn't a hobby but a way of seeing the world, so I grew up learning to notice things: the shape of a feeling, the weight of a color, the way a line could carry emotion before a single word did.
But there was another thread running alongside that one. At seven, I got my hands on an old Pentium 1, a consolation prize from my dad after I begged for a SEGA and didn't get it. I never really left that machine again. By the time I hit high school, curiosity had turned into a small hustle: designing logos that were, generously speaking, learning experiences. I built a website to sell .psd templates, graphics, and posters, cobbling together freelance work before I even knew what freelance meant. University brought a small startup and my first real lesson in what it means to take work seriously. The years after that were a slow education in craft and discipline, moving through companies, moving through tools. I remember hacking my window just to get Framer to run, then Adobe XD, then InVision Studio, until I finally landed somewhere that felt like home: Figma.
Somewhere in the middle of all this, gaming quietly taught me something I didn't expect. Leading raids in World of Warcraft, I discovered I liked being the one people counted on to make the call. That instinct followed me out of the game and into real rooms with real stakes. At twenty four, I stepped into my first leadership role, more nerve than certainty at first, faking it until it stopped feeling like faking. Vienna became home in 2021, and looking back now, I can trace a clean line from that kid hunched over a Pentium 1 to the person I am today: someone people trust to lead.
I still spend my evenings the way I did as a kid, in front of my PC, deep in a game, a show, or a fantasy novel. I never grew out of being a geek. If anything, it's the thing that quietly built the career I'm proud of.
